Job Summary

Supervise department team members responsible for A/P, A/R, Income Audit, Daily Cash, and General Accounting functions to ensure smooth daily operations. Drive establishment of policies and procedures that safeguard assets and manage business risks while continuously resolving system problems to maintain reporting accuracy. Manage the general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial statements from transaction origination, preparing and approving complex journal entries supported by source documentation. Lead complex accounting projects focused on automation to reduce cycle time and manual work, providing metrics for departmental efficiency. Review leases, contracts, and agreements from an accounting perspective, ensuring data accuracy for filings and advising on daily, weekly, and monthly operating reports. Ensure financial reporting accuracy to Ownership, Management Company, and auditors, while scheduling, training, and developing team members. This role requires 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with 3+ years in a supervisory capacity, based in Fort Worth with a Bachelor's degree preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional work experience
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years of accounting/finance supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated strong technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP & USALI
  • Analytical approach to problems with high regard for detail and accuracy
  • Highly skilled in spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Experienced with XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced in financial and hotel software applications (M3, ProfitSword, Inventory Systems, etc)

Desired Qualifications

  • On property, multi-property, or shared service hotel experience
  • Hands-on understanding of all areas of Accounting including: AP, AR, Income Audit, Cash, General Ledger, Credit/Collections, COS/Inventory Control, Payroll, P&L preparation and analysis, etc
  • Familiarity and comfort working closely with Front Office, Reservations, Food & Beverage, and Sales departments to support operations
  • Able to identify opportunities for continuous improvements and automation in business processes
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • A love for the history and future of the Fort Worth Stockyards
