Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance activities across multiple retail locations, managing payment and disbursement processes while strengthening internal controls and approval workflows. Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting to support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate information for outside accounting partners. Partner with ownership, bookkeepers, and tax advisors to standardize processes and prepare for audits, holding teams accountable to established financial procedures. Travel periodically to retail locations as needed. Primarily onsite in West Hollywood/Hollywood with a base salary of $120,000-$150,000 plus bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Strong accounting background with hands-on experience in journal entries, reconciliations, close activities, and financial controls
- Experience managing payments, disbursements, or accounts payable processes
- Experience working with multiple entities, locations, or business units
- Strong understanding of internal controls and approval processes
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Ability to work effectively with developing systems and improve existing processes
- High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment
- Ability to work primarily onsite in the West Hollywood / Hollywood area
- Ability to pass a background check due to the position's payment authority and level of responsibility
Desired Qualifications
- CPA is a plus but not required
- Cannabis industry experience is preferred but not required
- Experience in a regulated, multi-location, retail, or similarly complex environment will be considered
- Experience working alongside outside accountants, bookkeepers, or tax professionals
- Strong Excel skills
