Job Summary
Assistant Controller at a multi-entity organization leading and expanding the finance function with a focus on cash operations, intercompany accounting, rent/ CAM and lease accounting, month-end close, and executive reporting. The role emphasizes leveraging ERP optimization, data analytics, and AI tooling to drive automation and efficiency, mentoring staff, and partnering with the CFO/Controller on initiatives. Key responsibilities include managing vendor payments and cash forecasting, admin of the corporate card program, overseeing intercompany transactions, real estate accounting across multiple locations, balance sheet reconciliations, monthly reporting for executives, payroll backup, and developing automated tooling and dashboards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring others
- Hands-on familiarity with a modern ERP; NetSuite strongly preferred
- Genuine fluency with technology and data: advanced Excel and/or SQL, comfort manipulating large datasets
- CPA (preferred)
- NetSuite administration (preferred)
- Public accounting background (audit or assurance)
- Experience with intercompany accounting in a parent/subsidiary structure
- Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842) and multi-state sales tax
