Job Summary
Assistant Controller responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Key duties include financial reporting, overseeing accounts payable/receivable, preparing reconciliations, and supporting budgets/forecasts. Will lead and mentor finance staff, drive continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls, act as a business partner to operations with actionable financial insights, ensure timely and complete financial information, and collaborate on ERP enhancements and audits. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA or equivalent preferred), 4-6 years of accounting/finance experience with 3-5 years in a leadership role, strong Excel and data-reporting capabilities, and the ability to own numbers and drive results.
Required Qualifications
- 4 - 6 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
- at least 3-5 years in a leadership or Controller role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- CPA or equivalent preferred
- Strong Excel skills (advanced) and experience with database queries and reporting
- Experience in privately owned/operated business desirable but not required
- Public accounting experience preferred
