Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger accuracy, monthly and year-end closing, and fixed asset management. Supervise a team of two or more personnel by coaching staff, establishing responsibilities, and reviewing work for consistent performance. Coordinate with billing, payroll, and external audit firms to facilitate accurate financial reporting and manage annual audits. Assist with partner accounting, tax preparation, and budget forecasting while ensuring compliance with internal controls and firm policies. Create and update internal documentation to support process improvements and new technology implementations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of accounting experience
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Highly skilled in handling financial and numeric data
- Proven analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, conventions, and standards
- Meticulous, organized and ability to read, analyze, and process complex financial statements and documents
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads
- Ability to manage and develop others
- Must possess discretion in working with confidential data
- Excellent digital literacy skills
- Technical dexterity
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Specific proficiency in Excel
- Specific proficiency in Access
- Specific proficiency in PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications
- Law firm or professional services experience
- Prior experience with Aderant systems
- Prior experience with Sage systems
- Master's Degree
- CPA accreditation
