Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial transactions while assisting with the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, coordinate annual audits, and support subcontractor payment workflows. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, and identify process improvements for implementation. Ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational policies while training and mentoring accounting staff. This exempt position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and requires 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including preferred construction and public accounting backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Desired Qualifications
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Construction accounting experience preferred
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
