Job Summary

Assistant Controller role supporting all finance functions under the Director of Finance, providing leadership in decision making, risk management and external compliance. Responsibilities include reviewing customer credit applications, overseeing inventory management, approving bank payments, conducting gross margin/ costing analysis, guiding accounting team, managing banking and cross-border tax compliance (CRA, US tax), ensuring internal controls, troubleshooting ERP issues, ensuring data integrity and accurate month-end close, and collaborating with operations, supply chain and sales on financial impacts while identifying process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 5+ years progressive accounting/finance experience
  • 5+ years plant accounting experience with costing, inventory, planning, budgeting
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing and understanding of production processes
  • Experience with intercompany transactions
  • Advanced working knowledge of QuickBooks, ERP systems and Excel
