Job Summary
Supervise, coach, and develop Senior and Staff Accountants through regular guidance, work review, and performance feedback. Review accounting work products to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to policies while overseeing period-end close activities and reporting deliverables. Perform analytical reviews of financial results, investigate significant fluctuations, and maintain direct ownership of select accounting areas. Coordinate with accounting leaders, external auditors, and business partners to align priorities and resolve issues. Drive process improvements through standardization, automation, and technology while independently resolving routine and complex operational matters. This role supports the VP, Corporate Controller within a centralized accounting department advancing consistency and operational efficiency across corporate and divisional functions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university
- Public accounting or corporate accounting experience in a complex, multi-entity environment
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience supervising, developing, and reviewing the work of accounting personnel
- CPA
- US GAAP knowledge
- US GAAP knowledge, SOX 404, J-SOX, and J-GAAP knowledge
Desired Qualifications
- equivalent international certification with intent to obtain US CPA licensure
- Homebuilding, real estate, or construction industry experience
- US GAAP knowledge, SOX 404, J-SOX, and J-GAAP knowledge is a plus
- Experience supporting business growth, system changes, process improvements, reporting enhancements, or automation initiatives
