Job Summary
Lead regulatory compliance for permits and contract oversight within DSNY's Bureau of Solid Waste Management; oversee major procurement and contract actions over the next decade; develop and negotiate inter-agency agreements for use of facilities; advise on policies, programs, and regulations at city/state/federal levels related to solid waste management and resource recovery; oversee land use changes and environmental liability for DSNY-controlled facilities; coordinate with other city agencies; manage a team of approximately 8 civilian staff; role primarily based at DSNY Worth St offices with staff/consultants across DSNY locations.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college in Public Administration, Personnel Administration, Business Administration, Human Services, Political Science or a related field, plus three years of satisfactory experience (at least 18 months in administrative/managerial capacity)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory experience (at least 18 months in administrative/managerial capacity)
- Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and nine years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible experience, with at least 18 months in administrative/managerial capacity
