Job Summary
Oversee daily facility operations across correctional facilities on Rikers Island, ensuring operations align with department policy and practices; monitor compliance with legal mandates, court orders and regulations; build and maintain cooperative relationships with senior leadership, oversight agencies, public agencies, communities, and correctional staff; analyze situations to advise leadership, support staff training, and drive effective solutions; analyze data to identify trends for leadership consideration; research and implement correctional best practices; perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- At least fifteen (15) years of professional supervisory experience as a Correctional Administrator, Correctional Superintendent, Warden, Chief or other senior level supervisory experience in a correctional setting.
- Experience overseeing and managing the operations of a large correctional facility, large county jail, detention center or correctional system.
- Experience evaluating the performance of institutional operations and the effectiveness of programs in relation to the incarcerated population and maintaining high standards and work objectives.
