Job Summary
Assistant Commercial Manager responsible for end-to-end procurement activities to support SZC as a standalone entity. Develop procurement strategies, secure stakeholder buy-in, and deliver a portfolio of contracts aligned with project objectives. Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned contracts, manage pre-award activities (ITT/RFQ preparation, evaluation, and negotiation), ensure post-award execution compliance, and maintain governance through contract administration, notices, invoicing, variations, disputes, and financial reviews. Collaborate with Legal on contract issues, apply lessons learned from EDF and HPC, and support the provisioning of cross-functional procurement processes while delivering high-value, multi-discipline contracts within the SZC project framework.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a procurement role with demonstrable responsibility and experience
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or a student member working towards the professional qualification
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills with experience in working with and advising Senior Management
- Experience of developing supply chain procurement strategies for Projects
- Strong understanding of contract and commercial law and understanding of contractual terms and conditions
- Experience in Bid Process Management including supplier sourcing, documentation, evaluation and selection and managing the tendering and award of contracts for high value multidiscipline contracts
- Experience in negotiating high value contracts, and drive complex commercial negotiations to conclusion
- Proven experience working with cross functional teams
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
