Job Summary
Assistant Coach for Upper School Girls JV Tennis; seasonal, non-exempt role responsible for developing players, leading practices, and teaching fundamental skills and strategies to realize individual and team success. Collaborates with athletic administration and school community to support academic and co-curricular goals, supervises practices, competitions, and team travel, coordinates with Middle School Athletics Director and Director of Athletics on administrative tasks (uniforms, equipment, scheduling, referees), attends coaches’ meetings and mandatory events, and ensures adherence to safety, background checks, and school policies. Requires leadership, ethical conduct, and strong communication; prior tennis coaching experience and ability to model professional behavior are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years Tennis coaching experience
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
- LiveScan fingerprinting background check
- Valid California driver’s license
- Ability to transport student athletes (driving duties)
- COVID-19 testing compliance as required by regulations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of tennis skills and strategies for interscholastic athletics in California
