Job Summary
Assist in coaching individual participants in sport skills, planning regular practice schedules, and organizing the total sports program. Work closely with the athletic director and Head Coach to schedule interscholastic contests, recommend equipment purchases, and maintain attendance and insurance records. Oversee facility safety conditions during student presence, establish eligibility performance criteria, and enforce discipline and sportsmanship standards with established penalties. Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills while complying with all district rules and policies. Regular and consistent attendance is required for this position within the North Kansas City School District.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Missouri teacher or substitute certificate issued through DESE
- Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position
- Regular and consistent attendance
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred previous coaching experience in assigned sport
