Job Summary
Assistant Coach for Middle School Girls Cross Country responsible for developing a Cross Country program, leading athlete instruction in fundamental skills and strategies, coordinating with athletic staff, supervising practices, competitions, and team trips, organizing end-of-season meetings and awards, and ensuring compliance with school policies. Requires leadership, strong communication and organizational skills, knowledge of cross country techniques for interscholastic athletics in California, ability to collaborate with school community, and willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid and pass LiveScan background checks; involves transport of student athletes, and may include seasonal, part-time duties with overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent; college degree preferred
- A minimum of 2 years previous XC Coach Experience
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
- Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of Cross country interscholastic athletics in California
- Valid California driver’s license; clean driving record
- LiveScan fingerprinting background check
- COVID-19 testing compliance as required by regulations
- Ability to transport student athletes by school vans to sports events
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and travel as needed
