Job Summary
Assistant Coach II for Men’s Heavyweight Rowing at Cornell University assists the Head Coach in planning and operating the men’s crew program, including coordinating with the 1st assistant to plan and execute team practices and regattas, and providing input on player evaluation and recommendations. The role includes on- and off-campus recruiting responsibilities to identify, encourage and evaluate application and acceptance of student-athletes in accordance with Ivy League, NCAA and University policies. The position is 11 months per year and must support a culture of belonging, teamwork, and ethical conduct while upholding NCAA rules and university standards. Requires a Bachelor's degree and up to 1 year of coaching/recruiting experience, strong work ethic, and a valid NYS boating and driver’s license; familiarity with NCAA regulations and proficiency in Microsoft Office are preferred. Remote work is not indicated; the posting specifies onsite duties with implications of traditional campus-based coaching responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- up to 1 year of high-level, competitive coaching experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- proven success and potential in coaching, recruiting and working with student-athletes
- knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
- valid NYS boating and driver's license
- experience with Microsoft Office products
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- professional demeanor and high ethical standards
