Job Summary
The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach supports the Head Coach in operating a competitive collegiate program, contributing to student-athlete development, recruitment, practice planning, game strategy, and program administration while ensuring compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations. Responsibilities include planning and conducting practices, coaching individual and team basketball techniques, assisting with game preparation and scouting, contributing to in-game decisions, identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes, coordinating campus visits and recruitment events, ensuring recruiting activities comply with regulations, promoting academic success and well-being of student-athletes, scheduling practices and travel, assisting with equipment management, organizing camps/clinics/community outreach, and maintaining records and compliance documentation. Must have a Bachelor’s degree and relevant coaching/playing experience in basketball; able to lift 10 pounds and work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Prior coaching or playing experience in basketball at the high school, collegiate, or professional level
- Knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and player development techniques
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
