Job Summary
Assistant Coach for High School Cheer: Plan, organize, and conduct practices, training sessions, competitions, and team activities; teach sport-specific skills, conditioning, and fundamentals; develop practice plans and game strategies; foster teamwork, discipline, leadership, accountability, and good sportsmanship; ensure adherence to team rules, policies, league regulations, and behavioral expectations; promote academic success and personal development of student-athletes; maintain a safe environment and safety procedures during practices, games, travel, and activities; coordinate equipment, uniforms, facilities, and program needs; communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, staff, and administration; maintain attendance records and program documentation; support recruitment and participation within the athletic program; attend games, tournaments, meetings, trainings, and events; represent the school professionally; note: non-exempt hourly employees are not eligible to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport or related athletic experience preferred.
- Knowledge of sport-specific rules, techniques, strategies, and player development.
- Ability to work effectively with high school-aged students in a structured and supportive environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire student-athletes while maintaining high expectations.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Background check and fingerprint clearance as required.
