Job Summary
Assist in running Upper School Speech & Debate practices for Lincoln-Douglas Debate; coordinate after-school practices and support competitive students; chaperone and judge at Speech & Debate competitions on weekends; provide weekly office hours with students to prepare for competitions; provide detailed feedback to help students refine performances; guide students in mastering public speaking techniques such as delivery, articulation, and body language through engaging practice activities; travel to competitions as needed; ideal candidate builds supportive relationships with students, embraces innovative teaching/coaching strategies, and fosters an inclusive learning environment. Local to the Raleigh-Durham area; duties include working with the DA Speech and Debate program and collaborating with the Director and Assistant Director of Speech and Debate.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in competitive debate as a competitor
- Willingness to travel to competitions
- Ability to run Upper School Speech & Debate practices
- Chaperone and judge at Speech & Debate competitions on weekends
- Provide weekly office hours with students
