Job Summary
Meet regularly with the Head Coach to ensure recommended programs are implemented effectively. Support the creation and execution of all training program aspects, including on and off wall sessions, while assisting with student athlete recruitment. Provide coverage for the Head Coach and Climbing Coaches when they are unavailable or need additional support. Assist with all aspects of the climbing program during the competitive season, which includes morning practices, weekend competitions, and training sessions occurring Monday through Sunday. This role involves leading a comprehensive climbing program at MacLachlan College, featuring athletic training, coach mentoring, and program planning. Candidates will work across two campuses in Oakville and Burlington, with travel required for training and recruiting. Weekend and evening availability is necessary for games and practices.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in kinesiology or Phys ed or related field
- OPHEA safety requirements for climbing
- Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

- Climbing certifications
- Coaching experience in designing and implementing programs at an elite level
- Proven leadership ability within a competitive team setting
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage/communicate effectively with student-athletes, administrators and public
- Superior knowledge of multiple climbing techniques
