Job Summary
Assist with the on-going program development of fundamental skills, competitive strategies, and rules of play. Assist with the on-going program development of strength, conditioning, flexibility, mental health, and recovery. Assist with the on-going program development of servant leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Assist with regular communication with students, families, staff, the Athletic Trainer, and Athletic Office. Assist with the enforcement of school policies related to eligibility, discipline, safety and security, and transportation. Assist with the regular evaluation of performance criterion for the program and team members. Assist with the maintenance of records including attendance, statistics, inventory, and schedules. Assist with the scheduling of training sessions, practices, competitions, and team transportation. Assist with the enforcement of school policies related to eligibility, discipline, safety and security, and transportation. Assist with the distribution, collection, and management of all program inventory. Assist with maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and condition of program inventory and facilities. Assist with student recognition, to include attendance at the seasonal Awards Night. Assist with feeder programs in a manner that promotes the school and complies with related regulations. Assist with summer camps in a manner that promotes the school and complies with related regulations. Participate in on-going staff training and professional development; execute duties delegated by the Head Coach. Assist with maintaining positive relationships with the media, conference/association leadership, and school alumni. Perform additional duties in service of Carmel Catholic High School as assigned by the Athletic Director or Head Coach. Hours vary Monday through Sunday, including evenings and weekends, per the athletic schedule and school needs. The Assistant Coach is required to attend all practices, competitions, and other events as determined by the Head Coach. Moderate to strong physical activity required. Usually standing and moving; some lifting may be required. May be required to work outdoors for extended periods of time, during periods of inclement weather. Must be able to receive and impart detailed information through verbal and written communication. Required to work in situations dealing with people and within set limits, tolerances, and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Possess current ASEP, NFHS, State of Illinois teaching, or State of Illinois substitute-teaching certification.
