Assistant Coach, Boys Lacrosse

Job Summary
Plan and conduct high-quality lacrosse practices, skill development sessions, and individual development plans while supporting the Head Coach in team operations and game preparation. Teach offensive and defensive systems, transition play, and game strategies to student-athletes, then assist with scouting reports, film review, and post-game evaluations. Guide athletes through tournament preparation, including scheduling, travel coordination, and performance benchmarks, while monitoring their academic progress and overall well-being. Mentor student-athletes in leadership, teamwork, and life skills, and assist in college placement and recruitment initiatives as needed. Travel with teams to practices, tournaments, and camps, and ensure compliance with all organizational and governing body rules.
Required Qualifications
- High standard of proficiency in lacrosse coaching techniques, skill instruction, and player development
- Experience playing, coaching, or managing lacrosse at the collegiate, club, academy, national, or professional level
- Strong knowledge of lacrosse fundamentals, offensive and defensive systems, game strategy, player development principles, and position-specific instruction
- Bachelor's degree in physical education, sports management, business administration, or a related sports or business field, or equivalent experience
- Strong commitment to student-athlete development and success both on and off the field
- Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and staff
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs
- Ability to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time
- Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc
- Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays
- Requires a background check upon offer
- Requires a drug test upon offer
- This position requires a Florida Level 2 Background Screening
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual
- CPR Certification
- Valid driver's license with the ability to drive for tournaments, games, and team travel
- Experience working lacrosse camps and clinics
- Experience with video analysis, performance technology, and lacrosse analytics platforms
- Collegiate recruiting or player placement experience
