Job Summary
Assistant Coach, Boys Basketball at Grand Peak Academy is a part-time, seasonal role (October 2026–January 2027) in Colorado Springs. Responsibilities include instructing athletes with guidance from the Head Coach, assisting with the coaching program, leading practices when the Head Coach is not present, preparing the team for competition, attending practices and games, assisting with setup/takedown of equipment, and reporting to the Head Coach. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, coaching knowledge, strong communication, collaboration with diverse groups, a commitment to a positive, inclusive team environment, and completion of a comprehensive background check (fingerprinting may be required). Concussion training or willingness to obtain is preferred, and adherence to all applicable school policies and Colorado education guidelines is expected. The position involves physical activity including lifting up to 25 pounds and moving within indoor/outdoor facilities. E-Verify may be used as part of the recruitment process.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the sport
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
- Commitment to positive and inclusive team environment
- Concussion Training or willingness to obtain
- Adherence to GPA policies and relevant policies
- Background checks including fingerprinting may be required
