Job Summary

Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, workouts, and team activities while developing individual player plans for skill, game IQ, and decision-making. Lead player development through film study, scouting, and strategy implementation, and serve as a primary resource for athlete growth. Manage recruitment efforts by identifying prospects, conducting visits, and maintaining relationships with families and high school coaches. Coordinate all team travel logistics, including itineraries, transportation, lodging, and game-day operations. Monitor athlete academic progress and report rule violations to the Head Coach and Director of Athletics. Support administrative duties and represent the program professionally while adhering to NAIA, SSAC, and college policies. Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States
  • Individuals will be required to provide proof of identity and eligibility for employment in the United States upon acceptance of an employment offer
  • All applicants being considered for employment are required to submit to substance screening
  • Must pass a criminal background check as a condition of employment
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • One or more years of successful high school, college, or professional playing experience is preferred
  • Previous collegiate coaching experience preferred, particularly at the NAIA, NCAA, or junior college level
  • Demonstrated ability to develop student-athletes' individual basketball skills and overall understanding of the game
  • Ability to evaluate talent and assist with the identification and recruitment of prospective student-athletes
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate team travel and manage detailed itineraries
  • Ability to assess a team's competitive strengths and vulnerabilities
  • Demonstrated skill in making recommendations to enhance individual and team performance
  • Working knowledge of or willingness to learn NAIA and SSAC rules and regulations
  • Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively one-on-one, in small groups, and in a public setting
  • Ability to communicate ideas and priorities effectively to promote teamwork and achieve desired results
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
