Job Summary
Assistant Coach for 8th Grade Boys Track at Ankeny CSD responsible for assisting the head coach with organization, development, and leadership of the team. Duties include coordinating practice planning, skill development, and game-day coaching; mentoring student-athletes; collaborating with coaches; enforcing athletic rules and safety protocols; promoting off-season programs; and maintaining student-athlete records and equipment. Requires valid coaching license or ability to obtain before season start; prior coaching experience preferred; strong coaching knowledge; ability to lead and supervise students and staff; and adherence to district and ethics policies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid coaching license through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of the season
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to lead, instruct, and supervise students athletes and a coaching staff
- Ability to work under pressure and remain calm
