Job Summary
Assistant - Clinical Lab role performing a range of lab duties including phlebotomy, specimen handling, and clerical tasks to support the Clinical Laboratory. Responsibilities include retrieving specimens from pneumatic tubes, preparing samples for analysis, loading specimens on instruments, assisting with blood bank and micro duties, preparing specimens for reference testing, performing instrument verification and troubleshooting, maintaining inventory, following hospital policies, and training new staff. Requires High School Diploma or GED and 2–5 years phlebotomy/CLA experience; multiple certifications in laboratory assistance or related fields preferred. Night shift (6:00 pm–6:30 am), three days per week with rotating weekends and holidays, at Four Peaks Medical Center, Mesa, AZ.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- 2 years, to 5 years phlebotomy/CLA experience
- Medical Technologist (AMT) - Certification, American Certified
- Office Laboratory Technician (COLT) Required or Certificate of Completion for Laboratory Assisting program from an accredited school Required or Certificate of Completion Laboratory Assistant Program Required or Certificate of Completion of Laboratory Assisting Program Required or Equivalent certification Required or No certification required for individuals with 1 to 2 years lab experience Required or Certified Office Laboratory Technician or equivalent Preferred
