Assistant Clinical Director

Job Summary
Oversee Prior Authorization submissions and billing documentation compliance across Franklinton and Whitehall sites, tracking expirations and serving as the primary contact for payer disputes. Provide direct clinical oversight to Supervisors, including diagnostic and treatment planning support for SUD cases, while reviewing documentation to identify compliance gaps before audits. Float between locations to maintain consistent standards, offer backup coverage when Clinical Directors are unavailable, and support complex case consultations. Partner on program development, monitor caseload distribution, and lead incident reviews and CARF accreditation preparation. Maintain regular reporting on PA status and billing metrics, ensuring all documentation adheres to 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and OhioMHAS standards.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in a behavioral health, counseling, social work, or related field
- Current Ohio LCDC III license
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical supervisory experience in a behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment setting
- Working knowledge of Ohio OCDP supervision requirements and scope-of-practice rules across clinical credential levels
- Strong understanding of behavioral health billing, documentation, and payer authorization requirements
- Working knowledge of 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and CARF accreditation standards as they apply to clinical documentation
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites and manage competing priorities
- Sound clinical judgment in prioritizing and triaging documentation, billing, and supervisory issues across two locations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and support clinical staff at varying credential levels
- Ability to build effective working relationships with both Clinical Directors and site-based Clinical Supervisors
- Active, unrestricted Ohio licensure throughout employment
- Immediate self-reporting of any change in licensure status to Human Resources
- Travel between sites as operationally required
- Occasional evening or flexible scheduling availability
Desired Qualifications
- Doctoral coursework in a related field (e.g., organizational leadership)
- An independent clinical license, such as LICDC, LICDC-CS, LPCC-S, LISW-S, or an equivalent independent licensure
- Experience with Prior Authorization processes and behavioral health billing documentation
- Experience supporting or supervising staff across multiple credential levels (e.g., LSW, LCDC II, LCDC III)
- Experience working with justice-involved or court-referred populations
