Job Summary
Review and qualify genetic variants from exome and genome sequencing, supporting clinical data analysis and case preparation under supervision. Perform routine data interpretation tasks, including variant classification through evidence gathering and literature searches, while preparing documentation and updating internal databases. Engage in team discussions and training to build competency in clinical analysis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to productivity benchmarks. This entry-level position focuses on foundational skills within a collaborative team environment at GeneDx, a leader in rare disease data sets and precision medicine.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited genetic counseling program
- Master's or PhD in Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related field
- MD/DO with demonstrated expertise in human genetics
- Proven ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High proficiency in internal systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Demonstrated professional-level proficiency in mathematical reasoning
- Computer literacy
- Language-based communication
- Board-eligible status or active certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
- Licensure in the state where the employee works
Desired Qualifications
- Prior clinical or laboratory experience
