Assistant Claims Manager - Marine Liability

Job Summary
Lead a London-based Marine Liability claims team of three, overseeing open market lead primary and excess claims and delegated arrangements. Maintain governance, service standards, and KPIs; coordinate claim allocations between London and Leeds; support underwriting with strategy, coverage, and reserving input; provide technical input on product wordings and vendor/expert support; produce and review monthly reports and drive proactive, customer-focused claims handling while aligning with the broader claims and underwriting teams. Highly prefer candidates who can contribute to the team’s development, process improvements, and overall underwriter-claims collaboration in a London Market environment.
Required Qualifications
- Leadership capability or demonstrated ability to lead a team
- Experienced London Market claims practitioner
- Deep understanding of Marine Liability class of business
- Ability to handle high-value, complex, international and multi-party claims
- Proven ability to manage class-specific vendors and DCAs
- Strong client management skills with key brokers
- Knowledge of Lloyd’s and Company market
- Proficiency with London Market ECF or CLASS and IT tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to produce claims MI
