Job Summary
Assist the City Administrator in the daily administrative functions of a municipal government and provide coordinated leadership to enhance the city’s economic vitality. Supervise the Community Development Department, the Information Technology Department, and the Deputy City Clerk; oversee planning, zoning, building, and code enforcement activities; coordinate planning and development reviews for the Planning Commission and City Council; support implementation of long- and short-range departmental plans; participate in budget development and resource allocation; represent the City in meetings with boards, committees, developers, and community stakeholders; drive economic development initiatives and coordinate with external consultants and other city departments; ensure effective policy making through data analysis, presentations, and department coordination.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in urban planning, geography, architecture, or closely related field
- At least five years of progressively more responsible work experience, at a managerial level, with knowledge of fundamental practices of planning and zoning
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification preferred
