Assistant Chief Steward

Job Summary
Direct and assist Stewards to improve efficiency of cleanup; ensure water temperature and chemical levels are appropriate and documented; assist with banquet plate-ups and support banquet and buffet by transporting and ensuring adequate stock. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including dishwasher, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor. Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating staff; follow safety and security policies; welcome guests with professional language; develop positive working relationships; uphold quality standards. Physical duties include moving, lifting, pushing, pulling, and placing objects up to 50 pounds; stand or walk for extended periods and navigate uneven or slippery surfaces.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience
- Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience
- License or Certification: None
