Job Summary

Act as the subject matter expert and point of contact for all equipment, technology, and industry standards at the location. Implement, install, and maintain engineering systems while providing end-user support across departments, including transmitter support and replacing defective equipment. Provide additional resource subject matter expertise to staff and leadership in the absence of the Chief Engineer, assist the News department in maintaining live production requirements, and handle administrative tasks like budget tracking. Expect daily opportunities to learn how to reprioritize obstacles and face unexpected late-night calls for engineering emergencies. Travel with the News team routinely and work in a high-energy environment supported by Broadcast Industry innovators.

Required Qualifications

  • On-the-job and/or formal training repairing transmitters
  • Valid & unencumbered driver's license
  • Work experience, education, and/or formal training/certification in one or more of an engineering-related fields (e.g., technology; information systems; computer science; electrical engineering and/or electronics)
  • Ability to lift 40-50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous broadcast experience
  • Familiarity with FCC regulations
  • Engineering-related certifications
