Job Summary
Assistant Chief Engineer role overseeing preventive/scheduled maintenance, supervising maintenance and housekeeping staff, coordinating with vendors, handling work orders, maintaining maintenance records, and responding to emergencies at a Fort Lauderdale, FL property. Requires High School diploma or GED, 2+ years in building trades/maintenance, supervisory experience, valid Florida driver’s license, ability to react to emergencies within two hours, strong written/verbal communication, and ability to produce professional reports. Full-time schedule with on-site responsibilities and the physical demands of active maintenance work.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum two (2) years general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance or handy-work
- Experience in supervising team members
- Must have the ability to drive for work purposes in case there is a need for the property urgently. A valid FL driver’s license
- Must have the ability to react and address all emergency situations within a two hour. Must be available for emergency calls
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to provide professional written reports and make recommendations to the Property Manager and the Client on the maintenance needs of the property
