Job Summary

Conduct analytical testing for in-process and finished products using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, Kjeltec, ICP-OES, and gas chromatography. Perform ingredient analysis including titrations, moisture testing, organoleptic evaluations, and ELISA allergen testing. Execute control sample analysis, water testing, Clean in place residual checks, and daily flavor and aroma assessments. Assist in compliance measures by preparing Laboratory Investigation Reports and supporting Non-conformance and Root Cause Analysis investigations. Train new hires on lab methods and provide guidance on day-to-day operations for senior chemists. Serve as on-shift liaison for FLL elevations when supervisors are unavailable. Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety measures, including monthly behavior-based safety observations.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent
1 year of appropriate college science related studies
1 year of college mathematics (algebra, geometry, or calculus)
3+ years of experience in a lab
Knowledge of analytical lab instrumentation HPLC, GC, ICP, general titration methods, pH testing
Basic knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to prepare simple reports
Ability to read and record gauge and display readings
Ability to use knowledge of chemistry acquired through formal education with moderate assistance from supervision
Mathematics knowledge to include: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, proportions, and basic keyboard skills
