Job Summary
Assistant Cheerleading Coach responsible for coaching student-athletes in a particular sport for the season, teaching sportsmanship, ensuring safe practices, and serving as a good role model for the students, the school, and the school system. Duties include implementing, interpreting, and enforcing school, state, and conference regulations; attending meetings; maintaining discipline and morale; assisting Head Coach with scheduling and transportation to tournaments; assisting with preparations for practices and events; safeguarding equipment and facilities; guiding athletes on rules and fundamentals; maintaining team statistics and inventory; budgeting recommendations; ensuring security of facilities; and communicating with parents when necessary. The role requires strong knowledge of the athletic program, safety procedures, and experience in coaching, with preferred qualifications including an Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Physical Education or related field and NC Certification as a Teacher.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Additional coursework and/or training in a particular sport
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
