Job Summary
Assistant Chaplain at the University of Maryland responsible for leading and mentoring Black Student Ministries (BSM). On-campus, part-time role (15 hours/week) for Fall & Spring semesters, focused on teaching weekly chapel, leading Bible studies and discipleship groups, recruiting/training student leaders, and fostering leadership development. Responsibilities include teaching Scripture, providing pastoral care and spiritual guidance, building partnerships with campus organizations and community partners, supporting outreach and fundraising initiatives, and developing leadership teams through retreats, meetings, and events.
Required Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Ministry, Biblical Studies, or a related theological discipline is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated Christian faith and commitment to spiritual leadership.
- Experience teaching Scripture, discipling others, and developing leaders.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse students, organizations, and community partners.
