Job Summary
Operational leader supporting the Center Director with staffing, scheduling, enrollment support, and classroom coverage; coach, mentor, and develop Lead Teachers to strengthen performance and retention; ensure strong, consistent implementation of the L.E.A.P. Curriculum across classrooms; maintain compliance with NYS OCFS licensing, health, and safety requirements; partner with teachers to support positive family communication and engagement; step in to problem-solve staffing, classroom, or parent concerns quickly and professionally; help build a positive, accountable, team-first culture.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early learning center
- Proven leadership — you’ve supported or led teams, not just classrooms
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development and best practices
- Meets New York State OCFS requirements for an Assistant Director role
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred but not required
