Job Summary
Assistant Camp Director to oversee Extended Care and daily camp operations, lead staff supervision and training, and collaborate with the Camp Director on program management. Responsibilities include independently directing the Extended Care program (3pm-6pm), maintaining staffing ratios, supervising counselors and interns, coordinating with multiple locations, leading and coaching the camp team (with emphasis on mentoring Summer Interns), handling administrative tasks using camp systems, and supporting caregiver communications. On-site leadership during the summer camp season with 40 hours/week full-time or up to 30 hours/week part-time, Monday–Friday; on-site schedule typically 7:00 am–6:30 pm depending on location.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in K-8 education, child development, or related work/education
- 6+ months of leadership or supervisory experience
- Availability for full-time camp work (4–8 consecutive weeks, depending on location)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with enthusiasm and urgency
- Willingness to complete pre-camp requirements (background checks, onboarding, training, CPR/First Aid)
- Must be 18 years of age by May 1, 2026
