Job Summary
Assist in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities for campers aged 3-5, co-construct curriculum with head counselor, participate in weekly planning, foster an inclusive, respectful camp environment, support families through communication at pick-up/drop-off, supervise swimming activities, and contribute to a seven-week summer program at NTDC (14Y) in the East Village. Responsibilities include creating engaging, inquiry-driven experiences, maintaining classroom order and cleanliness, facilitating transitions and small groups, helping children understand emotions, and upholding professional conduct and collaboration with staff. A teaching or child-care background is preferred, with the possibility of pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies.
Required Qualifications
- Teaching experience in an early childhood setting/camp setting or child care experience
- Strong oral and written communication with parents, children, and co-workers
- Experience with working in an inclusive environment that supports children that need extra support
- Pursuing and or holding an undergraduate or graduate degree is a plus
