Job Summary
Operate cafeteria services on individual campuses by assisting the manager with kitchen efficiency, enforcing health and safety codes, and managing staff training. Prepare, serve, and record breakfast programs while acting as cashier during lunch periods. Ensure food items are stored safely and maintain a clean, hazard-free environment using kitchen equipment. Complete designated district technology proficiencies and access programs via personal computer. Maintain professional demeanor, ensure compliance with the Texas Educator's Code of Ethics, and deliver daily attendance and punctuality. Supervise students during operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Food Handlers Certificate
- Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
- Proficient knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and appliances used in food preparation
- Effective planning, coordinating, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage and train personnel
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
- Minimum of two (2) years school food service experience or one (1) year in food service management
- Designated district technology proficiencies
- Basic knowledge of technology/computer skills
- Ability to use personal computer to access district programs, emails, and other resources
- Consistent professional demeanor and appearance
- Compliance with the Texas Educator's Code of Ethics
- Daily attendance and punctuality
- Ability to read, concentrate, communicate effectively (verbally and written), interpret, reason, understand verbal instructions, memorize, coordinate, compile, compute, analyze, differentiate
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to lift moderate weight (15-44 pounds)
- Ability to work around moving objects or vehicles
- Ability to work on uneven surfaces
- Ability to work alone
- Ability to work prolonged or irregular hours
