Assistant Buyer

Job Summary
The Assistant Buyer supports the Buying team in sourcing and purchasing products to meet customer demand and company objectives. Responsibilities include strategic sourcing to maintain optimal inventory levels, forecasting demand and placing purchase orders based on seasonality and sales performance, managing inventory health to hit margin and turnover targets, reducing distressed inventory, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The role involves market research, data-driven purchasing decisions, and cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Brand, and Operations to improve product availability and customer experience. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, plus a collaborative, proactive mindset, are essential. Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years of buying/inventory experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant buying, planning, inventory management, or purchasing experience preferred
- Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
- Ability to work with inventory and purchasing management systems
Desired Qualifications
