Assistant Buyer

Job Summary
Develop seasonal range plans by analysing buying patterns, forecasting sales, and calculating size and colour ratios. Buy for key territories including the UK, EU, NA, NZ, and AUS while working with the Head of buying to maximize profits and ensure commercially viable merchandise. Review stock, sales, and orders to react urgently to meeting targets, and manage the critical path from initial product development through delivery. Maintain supplier relationships, create style books, approve lab dips and trims, and attend fit meetings with QC to sign off samples. Mentor the BAA team, coordinate promotions to clear slow-moving stock, and approve PTS for shipments.
Required Qualifications
- Experience at an Assistant Buyer level
- Experience at Senior BAA or Assistant Buyer level within an own buy retailer
- Experience of fully managing the critical path for your department
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong IT skills most importantly in Excel or equivalent
- Commercial and keeps up to date and aware of market trends, changes in demand
- Able to fully understand customer needs and demands (e.g. price, quality, availability)
- Strong time management skills and able to prioritize
