Job Summary
Assist the Buyer and contribute to assortment strategies in a fast-paced retail environment. Maintain data integrity for SKUs, set up and manage merchandising data, support seasonal needs, and pass new SKUs for placement with PO due dates. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on pricing, sample management, photography/warehouse coordination, and seasonal floor set planning. Analyze sales metrics, generate reports, and aid in identifying business opportunities. Demonstrate knowledge of retail markets, maintain competitive analyses, and support ongoing merchandising initiatives. Travel may be required. This role requires on-site presence Monday through Thursday with a remote option on Friday and emphasizes collaboration with Inventory, Sourcing, Design, E-commerce, and Creative teams.
Required Qualifications
- BA /BS degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 1-2 years of retail buying experience
- Familiar and comfortable with pulling sales reports and strong ability to analyze business metrics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint); ability to create pivot tables and experience with advanced formulas such as VLOOKUP
- Note: Occasional travel may be required
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and execution
- Solid understanding of retail math
- Effective communicator—provides timely updates and collaborates cross-functionally
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills
- Strong data management and analytical capabilities
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, shifting tasks and timelines
- Ability to work autonomously and good judgement.
