Job Summary
Assistant Buyer at Cracker Barrel's Store Support Center. Travel to major market shows with Buyer and category shows to identify, select, and negotiate products for final approval. Responsibilities include reviewing purchase orders, negotiating costs, ensuring correct nomenclature and packaging/shipping attributes with vendors, setting up new item attributes, placing initial orders, determining product allocation, analyzing sales and profitability, tracking orders and stock, reviewing samples for Cracker Barrel standards, coordinating with distribution centers and stores on shipping and receiving issues, and contributing to product development, line enhancements, and profit optimization. Includes vendor follow-up, packing changes negotiations, and special projects to improve profitability and assortment.
