Job Summary
Monitor, operate, test, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and fire safety systems while performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Execute hands-on tasks including equipment restoration, blueprint interpretation, and troubleshooting systems from 12 to 480 volts. Coordinate emergency drills, manage tenant and vendor communications, and handle general facility upkeep such as painting, lighting replacement, and landscape awareness. Work full-time Monday through Friday with staggered shifts, maintaining records and responding to on-call requests as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4-5 years' experience in related field
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisors
- Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages
- Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations
- Ability to solve problems in standard situations
- Requires basic analytical skills
- Uses personal computer and / or PDA for work order system, email, ESS and training
- Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook
- Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
Desired Qualifications
- Must operate in an environment of a busy schedule with interruptions
- Working knowledge of systems from 12 volts to 480 volts and battery supplied power
- Communication needs to be proactive and persuasive as well as responsive and service oriented
- Must be able to act as full member of the property management team, building and maintaining effective relationships, managing differences of opinion, sharing ideas while being persuasive and listening effectively
- Physical abilities include: Lifting upwards of 60lbs, standing/walking for long periods of time and capable of climbing ladders
- Must keep up a professional appearance and hygiene
- Must accept responsibility for after-hours technical and physical interventions at the property
