Assistant Building Engineer

As the Assistant Building Engineer at Colliers, you’ll be responsible for ensuring maintenance systems run efficiently to safeguard clients and properties, respond to client requests, prioritize and assign work orders, and conduct regular inspections, alarm testing, and preventive maintenance. You’ll perform hands-on tasks including painting, rust removal, minor repairs, parking lot upkeep, and signage fixes, maintain daily operating logs for HVAC, utility meters, and general complaints, and help manage budgets and the RFP process for projects. You’ll develop and maintain strong relationships with property managers, suppliers, and department leaders, manage multiple priorities and reports (inventory, records, schedules), and be on-call after hours/weekends. A 3+ year background in building/property maintenance or engineering, knowledge of HVAC/electrical/plumbing/energy management systems, proficiency with MS Office, the ability to be on-call, and a valid driver’s license are required. Location is San Jose, CA, with on-site work expectations.
