Assistant Branch Manager

Job Summary

Conduct daily branch operations and act as manager during the Branch Manager's absence. Drive profitability by utilizing digital tools to maximize performance, develop and supervise associates, and handle daily customer service issues. Manage inventory control, warehouse housekeeping, and facility inspections while maintaining safety and security standards. Schedule staff for coverage, monitor operating expenses, and make deliveries to branches or customers as required. Perform counter sales, order preparation, and material staging when assigned. This role supports the mission of Rexel USA's electrical distribution business in Missouri City, TX, ensuring customer demand is met across the branch network.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Previous sales, operations, electrical distribution, or similar B2B industry experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment
  • Valid driver's license
  • At least 21 years of age
  • High School or GED
  • Knowledge and experience in inventory control and warehouse operations
  • Ability to manage P&Ls
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP system such as Solar Eclipse
  • Ability to develop and coach a team
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position - Frequently – 21% to 50%
  • Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location - Frequently – 21% to 50%
  • Must be able to crouch down to stock shelves, pick up boxes, or position oneself to maintain computers in the lab/under desks/in server closet - Occasionally – up to 20%
  • Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment - Occasionally – up to 20%
  • Must be able to use senses to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions - Constantly – at least 51%
  • Must be able to handle up to 10 pounds - Constantly – at least 51%
  • Must be able to handle up to 25 pounds - Frequently – 21% to 50%
  • Must be able to handle up to 50 pounds - Occasionally – up to 20%
  • Exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and/or exposure to heat and cold - Occasionally – up to 20%
  • Exposed to electrical hazards; risk of electrical shock - Occasionally – up to 20%
  • Handles or works with potentially dangerous equipment - Occasionally – up to 20%
  • Travels to offsite locations - Occasionally – up to 20%
  • Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record
  • Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire
  • Must not have had a suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years

Desired Qualifications

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
