Job Summary
Support daily branch operations by completing routes for absent drivers, assisting with morning duties like sorting freight and loading trucks, and tracking department reports. Monitor compliance with safety and DOT policies, oversee freight flow and route performance, and escalate irregularities to leadership. Lead drivers through weekly operational meetings, provide feedback on performance and safety concerns, and assist in training new staff. May cover variable shifts and travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license or successfully complete company paid CDL training program within 90 days of employment
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Business Management, Logistics or Operations Management or related field
- 1+ years of experience in the transportation industry and leadership
