Job Summary
Manage and lead Bakery Clerks while assisting the Bakery Manager in daily department supervision, merchandising, and inventory controls. Execute merchandise rotation, build displays, monitor incoming cases for damage, and ensure all team members adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Unload deliveries, operate deli equipment, and perform general housekeeping including cleaning work areas. Answer phones, take special orders, and accurately weigh and label products using scales. Maintain a Food Handlers permit and follow all weights and measures regulations. Requires flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a minimum of two years retail and supervisory experience.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Minimum of two years' retail grocery experience
- Two years supervisory experience
- Dependable and reliable
- Ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays
- Outgoing and friendly behavior
- Positive attitude
- Ability to interact with customers
- Good communication skills
- Ability to give and take direction
- Ability to participate in a team environment
- Ability to answer phones
- Ability to take special orders
- Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
- Ability to vertically transfer tray up to 5 lbs., from 7" to 64" for up to 10 hours
- Ability to vertically/horizontally transfer items up to 40 lbs., from 5" to 36", for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
- Adherence to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- Food Handlers permit
