Job Summary
Manage and lead Bakery Clerks while assisting the Bakery Manager in daily supervision of Bakery Department operations. Execute merchandise rotation and display building, monitor incoming cases for damage, and ensure delivery of excellent customer service. Order inventory, control stock, and validate team adherence to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Unload and sort store deliveries, operate deli equipment, and perform general housekeeping by cleaning and sanitizing work areas. Answer phones, take special orders, and operate knives, scales, wrappers, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed. Maintain accurate weight measures and labeling while standing up to 8 hours per shift. Adhere to all safety and Weights and Measures regulations and achieve a Food Handlers permit.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum of two years' retail grocery experience
- Two years supervisory experience
- Dependable and reliable
- Ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays
- Outgoing and friendly behavior
- Positive attitude
- Ability to interact with our customers

- Ability to give and take direction

- Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
- Ability to vertically transfer tray up to 5 lbs., from 7" to 64" for up to 10 hours
- Ability to vertically/horizontally transfer items up to 40 lbs., from 5" to 36", for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
- Adherence to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- Ability to achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
- Ability to operate and use knives
