Job Summary
Supervise and ensure guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operations are maintained in the bakery department. Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits while maintaining desired inventory levels and product quality standards. Operate the department according to guidelines, ensuring sanitation and safety throughout. Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to staff to achieve satisfactory performance. Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, guest service, and PA announcements as necessary. Maintain the department's labor budget and scheduling standards. Assume the duties of the Department Manager in their absence.
Required Qualifications
- Friendly, outgoing personality
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to read and understand information and direction
- Knowledge of bakery operations
- Ability to supervise people including training and development
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
- Effective communication, guest service and selling skills
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to effectively communicate with the Store Manager and Merchandiser
- Ability to work well with computers
